10th Percentile Rent + Utilities · all 50 Chicago wards · 2020–24
2020–2024 5-year ACS estimate.
Note: Rent + Utilities adds the estimated monthly cost of utilities renters pay separately, so units with utilities included in the rent and units billed separately compare on equal terms. It reflects what current renters pay, not asking rents for vacant units. If a percentile of rent is above a certain amount, the Census Bureau does not release the specific value, so we show “Over” that amount. That cutoff was $2,000 in 2010–14 ($2,650 in 2024 dollars). It has been $3,500 since 2015–19, so it is worth less in later releases: $4,294 in 2024 dollars for 2015–19.
